BUILD A STRONGER, MORE PREPARED ORGANIZATION
Driven for Change equips Kentucky churches, nonprofits, and community leaders with mental health and trauma training.
Driven for Change equips Kentucky churches, nonprofits, and community leaders with mental health and trauma training.

Your leaders, staff, and volunteers care deeply about the people they serve. But when someone is facing trauma, a mental health challenge, substance use, or a personal crisis, caring does not always make the next step clear.
Driven for Change helps your team recognize concerns earlier, begin difficult conversations, respond appropriately, and connect people with the help they need.
The goal is not to turn your team into counselors. It is to help them become more confident, compassionate, and prepared.

Learn to recognize signs of mental health and substance-use challenges, provide appropriate initial support, and connect someone with professional resources.

Understand how trauma can affect trust, behavior, communication, and emotional regulation—and learn how to create a safer, more supportive environment.

Gain the foundational knowledge needed to identify potential warning signs and respond in a safe and responsible way.

Identify local resources, strengthen referral pathways, and create a practical response plan for your church, nonprofit, organization, or community.

Understand common warning signs and notice when someone may need support.

Begin difficult conversations with greater confidence, compassion, and appropriate boundaries.

Help people reach professional care, community services, and other resources that can support their next step.

Michael Uptegraff understands that difficult situations rarely come with simple answers.
His work has placed him alongside people leaving incarceration, completing addiction treatment, navigating the court system, rebuilding their careers, and working toward a more stable future.
His approach is also shaped by his own experiences with childhood trauma, a 20-year career in the United States Navy, years of community service, and the hope he found through Jesus Christ.
Michael brings practical education, lived experience, and genuine compassion into every room. He creates a setting where people can ask honest questions, confront difficult subjects, and leave better prepared to serve the people around them.
Tell us about your organization, the people you serve, and the situations your team encounters.
We will help you identify the training or support that fits your needs and determine a practical next step.
